Welcome to AP Biology!
We are in for a long adventure together, and I'm glad you've begun to look into the resources available to you. This course will require a lot of effort from everyone involved. I promise you my best efforts, and I expect you to do the same for me. In these pages, you will find many resources to help you along your way.
What is AP Biology?
A.P. Biology is a course designed for students that have a strong interest in, or desire to pursue a career in the sciences. As this course is designed to be equivalent to a college level course, it differs significantly from the first high school course in biology with respect to the kind of textbook used, the range and depth of content covered, the kind of laboratory work done by students, and the amount of time and effort required. The course will culminate in the taking of the Advanced Placement Biology Examination, given by the College Board.
What is on this site?
The navigation panel at the left will help you get around. "Home" will return you to this main page. Course details has the topic and theme break down, as described by the College Board (the test makers). "Syllabus" is where you will find a copy of the list of day-to-day activities that I gave you at the beginning of the year. Remember that this is subject to change as necessary. In "Unit Files", I will post any Powerpoints or other useful handouts that you may care to download. Lastly, "Links" will take you to other websites that have a wealth of useful information for you.
I wish you great success!
